Tenanting Set to Begin at Goodwood Mega Social Housing Project
Tenanting is officially set to begin in November 2023 at the City-enabled Goodwood social housing mega-project. This landmark complex will provide rental housing to more than 1,000 residents and their families.
Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis inspected the advanced construction progress on Monday 18 September, accompanied by the Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim. During the inspection, municipal leaders highlighted the critical role of dense, central social housing in restructuring urban layouts.
By integrating affordable apartments directly onto major public transport loops, the Goodwood Station mega-project allows qualifying tenants earning between R1,800 and R22,500 to easily access commuter rails and city business sectors.
