Dialogue Continues Over Policies and Surcharges at Goodwood Station Complex
FCI Community Housing Services management is engaging in open dialogue with residents of the 1,055-unit Goodwood Station complex following a grievance letter raising concerns regarding visitor policies and municipal utility charges.
The formal grievance letter, representing views of some of the complex's 3,000 residents, highlighted concerns regarding rules that limit sleepovers to five nights per month and restrict adding occupants to leases post-signing, alongside utility fees like the R250 refuse/sewerage charge and street-parking security.
In response, FCI management clarified that utility surcharges strictly conform to the City of Cape Town’s social housing tariff structures, and that rules are designed to protect the interests and security of all tenants. Dialogue remains active as both parties work toward mutually beneficial solutions.
